JPEC Jazz Orchestra
The JPEC Jazz Orchestra (JJO), created under the auspices of the Jazz Educator’s Circle (JEC), is a 19-piece band featuring some of Canada’s top jazz musicians and educators. Like the JEC, the JJO includes musicians from the four post-secondary jazz education programs in the Greater Toronto Area: University of Toronto, Humber College, York University and Mohawk College.
The JJO – whose inaugural performance was part of the October 3rd Jazz Gala – will perform throughout the 2010-2011 concert season, either as a full ensemble or smaller combos, and will be integral to the implementation of JPEC’s education initiatives.
Membership in the JJO will change yearly. The 2010-2011 JPEC Jazz Orchestra is:
