Gala 2010
On October 3rd 2010, The Jazz Performance and Education Centre presented its second annual Jazz Gala. The evening, a tribute to the Honourable Warren K. Winkler, Chief Justice of Ontario, introduced the new 19-piece JPEC Jazz Orchestra, featuring some of Canada’s top jazz artists, award winners and educators – a veritable who's who among jazz musicians. We'd like to thank our sponsors for their support and for helping to make the Jazz Gala possible.
The evening’s featured soloist, jazz diva Ranee Lee, O.C., enjoys a successful career as one of Canada's most popular jazz vocalists and recording artists - an award winning songwriter, educator, actress and children's book author. Emerging jazz artists, many of whom study with JPEC Jazz Orchestra members, performed throughout the evening in the lobby thus merging jazz educators, performers and students for one stellar evening.
We'd also like to thank the Novotel Toronto North York hotel, who partnered with JPEC to offer a special guest room rate of $139.00 per night, which included a buffet breakfast, overnight parking and more.

Proceeds from our Jazz Gala support our year-round concert and education activities. You can still get involved - see the sponsor information for more details, or view our current sponsors.
We gratefully ackowledge the support of the SOCAN Foundation for this event.
